Which Article Directories are Best for Your Article Marketing Strategy?

If you have been following this series you have read a ton of valuable information about generating traffic to your website.

In the last few posts we’ve talked about:

• a general overview of article marketing
• getting started with your article marketing strategy
• whether you should outsource your article writing or write them yourself
• how to write an article in no more than 10 minutes
• and finally, in the last post, we talked about the first few places that you need to submit your article to in order to begin seeing some results

Now you have to understand, you are not only going to submit your articles to the two sites mentioned in the previous post, but you are going to submit your articles to dozens of places online.

The best place for you to submit your articles, like we discussed, is ezinearticles.  My second favorite place to submit my articles to is Squidoo.  And, if you remember, I recommended One Week Marketing by Pot Pie Girl if you want to learn more about taking advantage of all the traffic these attract on a daily basis.

I look at Squidoo in the same light that I see eBay.  EBay is the place you go to get your products in front of the millions of customers that are already shopping on the eBay site.  Well, Squidoo is a place that you can go to place your content to be in front of readers, and potential customers, that have already migrated to this one site looking for information.

Kind of makes sense, doesn’t it???

But don’t just think that ezinearticles and Squidoo are the only places that you will be submitting your content to.  There a lot of other sites that you’re going to need to submit to  and we’ll talk about a few of those right now.

After ezinearticles there are going to be a few other article directories that you will want to submit to.  Now I know that there are software applications that allow you to submit to hundreds of different article directories.  And these are okay if you’re looking for dozens and dozens of back links.  That is what these sites provide, dozens of backlinks.  But if you are looking for some recognition with the search engines then there are a handful of article directories that you should submit your articles to.

I have read dozens of tips and books on article marketing and every place I go this list is a little different.  There may be a dozen or so high quality article directories and these are just a few of those:

• Ezinearticles
• Goarticles
• Articlealley
• Articlesbase
• Buzzle
• Easyarticles
• Articledashboard
• Articlesnatch
• Searchwarp

Next we have Web 2.0 content sites.  These are sites that are communities of users, that post unique information of their choice, and are free to post on.  Usually you will create your own account and have your own author profile.  You will be able to create anywhere from one to dozens of pages populated with the content of your choice.  So let’s check out a few that I would start with and recommend for placing yourcontent.  Again, this is a very short list and there are dozens of Web 2.0 content sites that are worthy of your content.

• Squidoo
• Wetpaint
• Google Knol
• Quizilla
• Wikispaces
• PB wiki
• Zimbio
• Clearblogs

Again, these are just a few of the Web 2.0 sites that I would be publishing my content on.

Okay, you now have a few sites to get started with.  Time to start posting your content with some links pointing back to your sites.

Another strategy to take advantage of is to link some of these sites to each other.  I’m not going to get into the details right now but, by pointing some of these to each other, you are helping to increase the chances that your content posted on these sites could also rank well in the search engines.

There are a bunch of small tactics involved in article marketing geared towards helping your best articles and your best Web 2.0 content rank well in the search engines.  If you stick around and keep fallowing this blog I will be touching on a lot of these things in the near future.
