5 Article Writing Tips That You Can Take to the Bank!

A lot of people are intimidated by article writing and others live and die by it.  Some people have tried and failed while others have resounding success.  Here are a few article writing tips that I have found that have worked for me!

Don’t write a title, write a headline! The competition can be fierce and no matter what the niche is, you want to get your target reader to click on that article of yours.  Boring doesn’t cut it!  A keyword focused headline is much better than just a title!  Grab their attention then let your article do the rest.

Provide value to your reader. Whether you are rewriting some PLR content or writing from scratch, make sure that you are actually teaching something that you reader will find useful.  Just rehashing the basics, repeating what every other article that you found says or rewriting the basics of a sales letter for a product you are promoting does not work.  For link building and some affiliate promotions, this may be OK but if you want to provide long term value to your readers stay away from those.  Valuable, original content works best in the long run.

Keep it simple! Hear that a lot?  There is a reason for that.  Do not get too technical or long winded for your readers.  Keep your sentences short (not always easy ), your paragraphs short and focused and get to that call to action you are pushing your reader towards.  Give them just enough to peak their interest and want more!

Don’t sell! Look, if someone has found your article odds are that they were looking for some information and not a sales pitch.  Nothing is going to turn your readers off more than a blatant sales pitch.  Sure, you can recommend a product in your resource box but provide value, not a sales pitch!

Tell the reader what you want them to do next! Remember, your reader is out there looking for valuable content and will keep looking for more content and opinions after reading your article.  Why not keep them reading your content?!?!  Use your resource box to tell them what you want them to do next!
